I went over to NewsBreak to expand my net of exposure

In the past when I tried to apply to be a contributor on NewsBreak I was rejected for whatever reason. Recently, I returned to give it another try.

So far, I like it, only because I am a former press release writer and I love to write a good news story, and I know there’s money in it.

As a matter of fact, if I could have gone to college to go into broadcasting or journalism, I probably would have done it, so I could have worked with a news station.

But with today’s content creator websites and opportunities, it’s so easy to become a freelance journalist. So that’s what I’m doing with NewsBreak.

I think I will focus on trying to cover stories you wouldn’t normally see on mainstream news. I did try this recently with a story I wrote that a was a bit controversial, but NewsBreak would not run it. They did ask me to put in the title that it was an opinion piece, which I did, but it just stayed in the “Under Review” section, and they would never publish it. So I deleted it and posted it on Medium. You can read it here:
